Vinny Simeone
Director of Slowpitch Softball

Vinny Simeone is a lifelong resident of Long Island and graduate of Longwood High School, class of 1982.  He resides in Hauppauge with his wife Maria, and his son Nicholas.

Vinny grew up as a baseball fanatic and in 1980 he was MVP of the PAL baseball team which he led to a National Championship.  Vinny’s enthusiasm for baseball led him to the sport of slowpitch after high school.  In 1992, Vinny helped lead Garafolo & Sons to an NSA Slowpitch National Championship.

Vinny also took the leap to umpiring, which he has continued to do for the past 26 years.

In 2004, Vinny joined Rick Marz to help form Metro LI USSSA.  Since that time, Vinny has been the primary slowpitch tournament director for Metro LI USSSA and now, Global Recreation Network.

Vinny is an avid sports fan, and devoted follower of the Yankees, Rangers and Giants. Vinny still pursues his love of softball on the field as a pitcher and in his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, particularly his son Nicholas who enjoys playing guitar.


James Pinggera
Vice President of Technology

James is a native New Yorker that graduated from Smithtown High School West in 1984.  After high school James attended St. John’s University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.  Following his time at St. John’s, James attended Grumman Data Institute where he earned a degree in Computer Programming.

In 1989 James began working as a Application Developer for the Home Insurance Company until the company’s demise in 1998.  During the last 14 years, James has worked as an Application Developer/Business Analyst supporting the Corporate Finance department for a major financial institution in New York City.

James is also a USSSA trained umpire and in his free time enjoys softball and vacationing with family and friends.
